West White Oak Bayou Trail; Houston, TX

PATE was selected to provide survey, structural engineering and civil design for this first "alternative traffic" project for the City of Houston. The 10-foot-wide, five-mile long concrete bikeway design includes two pedestrian/bikeway bridges crossing the White Oak Bayou, under crossings of existing bridges and one railroad crossing. The bikeway interfaces with major streets and street alignments. The project is designed to AASHTO Bikeway requirements.
