Compaq Computer Corporation (currently Hewlett-Packard); Harris County, TX


PATE was the overall civil engineer for the campus style development of the world headquarters of the Compaq Computer Corporation (now home to Hewlett Packard) located in northwest Harris County. The 90-acre expansion included the site development and construction of over 1,000,000-sf of office space and spans over five buildings. All buildings were constructed within heavily wooded area and maintains much of its natural landscaping.

PATE was also responsible for the site development of a heavily wooded 750-acre tract to the east of this campus. Dedicated to Compaq's (now Hewlett Packard's) corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility expansion, the site required extensive preparation including utility and infrastructure design. Both the east and west sites required an analysis of drainage impacts on Cypress Creek, extensive property surveys, tree preservation plan, private utility systems including water distribution, storm sewer detention and reuse design, water treatment plant, wastewater treatment and reuse design, roadway and pedestrian infrastructure, and construction phase services.
