Royal Oaks Development; Houston, TX

PATE provided the civil engineering design for the development of a 700-acre residential and commercial development. The land was previously utilized as a private airport. The project features clubhouse amenities and an 18-hole golf course which doubles as a storm water detention facility. HEC-RAS and Inter-Connected Pond Routing (ICPR) software were used to evaluate the mitigation impacts of the golf course on downstream discharge to Brays Bayou and the operational impacts of the ponding elevations on the golf course. The scope of work included design of water distribution, sanitary sewer and drainage systems; grading and paving design of roadway infrastructure and bridges over Richmond and Westpark; rough and final grading design; utility relocation; full surveying services including topographic and boundary surveys; and computer-aided modeling of the Brays Bayou watershed to determine detention storage needs.
