Surveying
PATE SURVEYORS has proven itself a leader in the application of the latest technology practical to surveying, providing our clients with reliable, first quality surveying. We were one of the first surveying operations in Texas to put the electronic total station and data collector into practical service. Year after year we have continued to maintain the latest technology for survey applications including today’s most effective surveying tool – the Global Positioning System (GPS) – augmented by the Virtual Reference System (VRS). This system is currently yielding autonomous sub-centimeter precision surveys for the efficiency enhancement and economic benefit of our clients’ projects. We have demonstrated in numerous projects to date, how extremely effective this system can be, not only for establishment of primary horizontal and vertical control networks, but also for topographic data collection, right-of-way surveys, as-built surveys and construction stake-out.
Technology and effort can be useful though, wasted without a conscientious focus on quality control and quality assurance. Our approach to projects follows stringent procedures:
-
Review, with the Client, the intent of the survey as indicated in the written specifications for the scope of work and, more importantly, consider the practical aspects and the purpose for which the survey is intended.
-
Conduct field reconnaissance of the project site including recording specific notes of irregularities, photographs and/or videos as applicable and evaluate site conditions, best direction of approach, control recovery, general field conditions and right of entry issues.
-
Prepare a written schedule for the field work and review with the crew leaders to discuss the project scope, and schedule for full compliance with client needs and expectations.
- Review and process all field data, daily.
-
Review morning and evening with crew leaders, the day's work, problems, schedule, and graphic data plots of the project completion to date.
-
Conduct a final review of the project based on the field appraisal including a written advisement to the client, of any impediment or other significant discovery.
This system of rigid procedural approach steps, in addition to a two-person written check procedure for final survey products, guarantees accuracy, compliance with the written specifications, continuity of the product, and completeness of the graphic presentation material.
